How to Season Your Grill
Share
If you're using a new grill or have an old rusty one, it's essential to season it properly before use. Seasoning is super easy and quick; here's how to do it:
- Clean: Wash the grill with hot water and mild detergent to remove any rust or metal particles. Dry it well.
- Heat the grill: Light the fire and let the grill heat for about 10-15 minutes. This helps open the pores of the metal.
- Oil or fat: With a cloth or paper, apply a thin layer of vegetable oil (sunflower or corn) or beef fat.
- Burn it: Keep the grill at moderate heat for another 10 minutes. You’ll notice the metal changes color. This creates a protective layer.
- Repeat: If possible, do this two more times for a perfect seasoning.
- Enjoy your grill.
That's how easy it is to get your grill ready for every barbecue. With a good initial seasoning, you can forget about any issues!
