When organizing a barbecue, the big question always comes up: how much meat should I buy per person? To make sure there’s neither too much nor too little (and avoid fights over the last sausage), here’s the foolproof formula:
For a traditional barbecue
Adults: Between 400 and 500 grams of meat per person. This includes cuts like flank steak, ribs, skirt steak, etc.
Kids: 300 grams per person.
If it’s served with bread or there’s a little appetizer involved, you can reduce it by about 100 grams per person.
That’s how we calculate it—how do you do it at your barbecues?
